Title: Pricey But Worth It, If It Lasts…
Review: The past few years I’ve been going thru 30-40$ toasters that felt and looked cheap, made poor uneven toast, and invariably failed even though they were only used twice a day at most. I really didn’t want to spend 150 dollars on a toaster, but I had some reward points that brought it down to 100, and pulled the trigger.I gotta say i am extremely happy with it so far. Not only is the toast very even, but it also doesn’t dry out as much as cheaper toasters, which is very important if you like darker toast. It’s a little bit bigger than I thought, but looks very good on the counter. I love the dial, the features, being able to switch between what type of bread I’m toasting without tinkering with the dial or feeling I need to watch it. The top does get hot, but like it’s a toaster, you need heat to toast. Just keep your grubby little fingers away from the hot metal and you’ll be fine. The high lift has never made me feel like I needed to stick my fingers anywhere near where I would get burned. The only cons are for 150 dollars I would like a longer warranty, zwilling toasters for ~100 bucks have a 5 year warranty, this thing only has a 1 year warranty. I’m just suspect of the longevity of products made in china these days, but it’s very hard to find a toaster from anywhere else. I’m honestly a bit disappointed that a “premium” appliance maker like Breville doesn’t stand behind the quality of their products. The way I see it this 150$ toaster is a 1 star toaster if it only lasts 1 year, and a 5 star toaster if it lasts 5. Hell I just wish they made toasters like they used to that would last 25 years. But then I guess you run out of people to sell toasters to.

Title: Its kitchen art that works
Review: Like any other Breville product I use, its a great fusion between form and function. That said, this toaster takes the form to the next level with a visual appeal that says “I think its time to toast something”. The visual temperature settings and the visual indicator of progress are eye-candy that actually provide useful informaiton. The smaller footprint compare to my prevous x4 unit is welcome (but obviously can only do 2 at a time). If you don’t mind paying the extra for Breville quality and appreciate the aesthetic appeal in addittion to the superior engineering, this is the toaster to buy.

Title: No happy medium
Review: Itâs truly lovely to look at. Love the wide mouth for each slot and the handy crumb tray – so easy to clean. That said, no matter how many different adjustments I make, bread is always untoasted on the surface and burnt on the edges.

Title: Love it!
Review: Itâs perfect!!! I wanted all of the features this one has (exactlyâ¦no more/no less) without it being a giant/eyesore âsmartâ toaster. I ordered this used-very good condition to make it affordable for me, and they sent it looking brand new, packaged as though it were new, in its original box – zero tears or dents, and placed in another plain box. Honestly, I was so pleased. Took it out and used immediately. Seriouslyâ¦.it even smells new because it has that burning plastic smell of new appliances when first used. I know that will go away with more use, but honestly Amazon, thank you for blessing me with such a great used toaster. Really am thankful. And the bagel trial – went flawlessly. Worked perfectly. It is a tad slower than my last (basic) toaster, but man, did a completely professional job of toasting. Zero complaints.

Title: Electrical component issues
Review: I loved this toaster – the way it looked – toasted – digital settings etc. First one electronically malfunctioned – quit working – it kept tripping our GFI electrical safety switches. Amazon was kind enough to replace the first toaster even though the toaster was beyond the return window. The new one lasted about a year and half. (Note: we do not use the toaster everyday). Same problem occurred.Do not purchase this toaster- something is wrong with the electrical components – safety concerns. Other small appliances plugged into the same outlets – no problem. By choice I do not purchase extended warranties.

Title: Pricey, but worth it
Review: We have had several toasters over the years. I have never been satisfied with any of them. They toasted unevenly and dried out the bread or bagel. This toaster delivers perfectly toasted bread and bagels — evenly and predictably toasted based on the easy-to-adjust settings, and not dried out and tough like cedar shingles. Yes, this is a pricey toaster, but we use it more often because the toast and toasted bagels are so much more tasty and satisfying. Therefore, it’s a much better value for us. Highly recommended!

Review: I love Breville products – I own a few of them > however, the toaster I ordered is NOT the one I received. It looks the same except that the Model # and toasting options are completely different. I use grain / rye breads almost exclusively and was the reason I chose this toaster > they were 2 of the option settings available. The toaster I received was a different Model # with totally different toasting options with grain / rye both excluded from the choices. I searched the Internet / Breville website and could NOT find the toaster / Model # I ordered anywhere. Amazon needs to update the toaster/picture on their website because it looks like the one I ordered is no longer available. I’ve managed to choose the best option for toasting rye, so I’m okay with the toaster > but it’s still not the toaster I ordered. Other than that, Breville is STILL one of my favourite appliances to purchase – great toaster!
