Review: I do not use this for toast but the oven works very well for small items. It heats up very fast and the timer works well. I purchased the stainless steel which is light reflective making the writing on the controls difficult to see.

Title: simple, compact, adequate within its capacity limit
Review: This replaced a toaster that was not toasting bagels well. It also will replace small baking uses of a much larger Cosori air-fryer/oven. First two tries with bagels worked very well, bread toast came out well, and it baked half of a thawed lasagna sold frozen by a favorite Italian deli as well as the Cosori with identical time and temperature settings. The lasagna baked property in both ovens at the same time and temperature as the deli specifies. Optimistic.The compactness fits my gadget-crowded kitchen well. This could earn a go-to position and a fifth review star if next tests with frozen pizza slices, roasting a few bacon slices treated with maple syrup, toasting english muffins, baking a few corn muffins, and reheating leftovers work well. The larger Cosori fryer/oven and two convection-toaster predecessors replaced all uses of my house’s main oven; however this HamBeach is much more efficiently sized for making meals and sides for 1 or 2 people.The main thing I would change is to make the AC power cord a foot longer for more flexible placement. A contorted sideways oven placement because of the short cord makes it hard to see any of the three control knobs; perhaps a very short extension cord is in this machine’s future. The 1970’s feel, such as the mechanical timing knob, is unappealing after each of my series of earlier convection-toaster ovens provided intuitive and reliable modern user interfaces for much more complex operations. My first mistake with this oven was to set the controls including the timer, hear the timer ticking and think it was operating, but the oven was not warming up. Yep, the AC wire was unplugged (as is recommended between uses). Probably 30 minutes later the finished ping would have sounded (not loudly enough for a single ping), even with no power to cook.

Title: Nice toaster oven – however…
Review: I like it. It’s a nice, easy-to-use design but, a few things to be aware.– As another reviewer mentioned, it’s true that the writing on the knobs isn’t easy to read because it doesn’t have the high contrast that black on white does. However, once you know how each knob works – the lettering is less important.– The exterior DOES get very hot – it’s metal. So, plan on only touching the handle when it’s on and not placing anything plastic nearby.– The interior is not as large as my prior toaster oven which is a bit of a bummer. The good news about that is it toasts things a bit more quickly. The bad news is I can’t really cook a small, deep casserole or oatmeal bake in it like I could my prior one.As long as you understand *what* you’re buying, it’s a good item.

Title: Good value for the money; some quibbles
Review: Our Panasonic died prematurely, but we didn’t want to spend $150 for a replacement toaster. So we tried this. Seems to toast unevenly (bottom more than the top), and it’s definitely smaller than the Panasonic. Also, the controls are a bit hard to discern, i.e., very tiny. But, as I said, given the price of stuff today, it’s not a bad value.

Title: Perfect under certain conditions.
Review: This is perfect if you don’t want to spend money on unnecessary “extras,” and are short on counter space. It warms, it toasts, it broils, it roasts, and takes up little counter space. The window is large enough to provide a good view of what’s going on inside. The settings on the dials are very difficult to read, but not impossible, and I learned the settings quite easily (with the aid of a magnifying glass, since I have elderly eyes). It lacks a light to indicate when it has reached the temperature for which it’s set, but I just turn it on, give it a few minutes if necessary, and assume it’s at temperature, since it heats up quickly. One could use an oven thermometer if the temp. was crucial. I still use the microwave to heat liquids and leftovers, and the electric stove to boil eggs and bake bread, but this is perfect for toasting/warming baked goods, top-browning anything, and for making individually sized pizzas. A nice little kitchen appliance, very handy. Not all toaster ovens have the ability to broil, so that makes this a better buy than some others. But if you need temperature accuracy, you might want one with an indicator, and maybe dials that are easier to read.

Title: Good basic toaster oven but design flaw
Review: Likes: Good size for a small counter space. Good controls including a bagel setting. Heats quickly and toasts evenly. I tested the timer and the setting on 10 (minutes) was close to a separate timer set for 10 minutes.The only dislike is that, while the sides are obviously insulated and stay reasonably cool, the back gets very hot and the little spacer to hold the oven away from the wall is too short. I placed a metal frame behind the oven’s feet to keep it about 4″ from the wall and allow space to keep the electric cord from being against the hot back. This is a design flaw resulting in the 4 star review. The top gets hot as well but this is the same as my former oven and makes a good warming shelf for a plate of hot food.

Review: Good value and came 1 day earlier . Stainless steel and fast heating . Must be careful if children around . The top can get hotter than other ovens because of steel body . Looks very nice and easy to operate . I like that it has mechanical controls and not push buttons that damage easily .
