Title: I use it for pan and rye bread which doesn’t fit in standard toaster
Review: The photos show a bagel with the bottom backwards (in the toaster). You can see the bottom isnt toasted at all (because it is in wrong) while the top is, though uneven. The 2nd photo shows the outside, the bottom is toasted while it is a bit unclear the top has cheddar cheese on it, is just warmed as it should be.Bit odd to me is the bagels are supposed to face out when toasting.Toasts ok, starts to burn edges if you want darker interior. (At least on mine).So far it is simple to use, my old one would not stay down unless I clicked bagel! This one can raise up smaller slices, and do larger slices, haven’t tried 4 slices, Never do that.Tempeture control moves very easily, but not a problem so far. Haven’t cleaned it yet.

Title: Good Warrantee support
Review: Update to my negative complaint below. I contacted Hamilton Beach Customer Support and after a brief investigation they sent me a new toaster. The new one is working as it should I think the old one was defective from day one as it was stiff to operate and jammed constantly the new one is great right now. I will update again if problems occur.In the past I had toasters that lasted 15 to 20 years. I’ve had this one less than a year and it broke. The mechanism that raises and lowers the bread is very flimsy thin metal, just during normal use the bread wouldn’t pop up I looked in side and the mechanism was bent and it doesn’t look like it’s fixable. I sent a note to Hamilton Beach on their web site and I’m waiting to see if they can do something for me. Thankfully my 20+ year old toaster. Was in my basement and it’s now back in my kitchen till this is either replaced or fixed by HB. When it was working it toasted satisfactory and I like the features that it had . The weakness of this toaster is it flimsy mechanism for its pop up feature. One thing I want to add my old toaster is also made by Hamilton Beach, I guess there not making them like they used to. I will update this and possibly change my critique of the Hamilton Beach Toaster if I get a satisfactory response to my current issue with their toaster

Title: Makes good toast.
Review: This replaced a similar sized toaster that gave up it’s last toasty slice.This toaster has all the same features of a long slice toaster, PLUS a ” Bagel” button to only toast One side of the bread. Which also works great for Crustini with thick sliced Italian bread. Yumm.Recommended.

Title: Broke almost immediately
Review: Don’t buy this toaster unless you enjoy burnt fingers. The spring stopped working almost immediately so you can’t even reach whatever you’re toasting to get it out. Nothing pops up so the bottom corners also burn yet the rest is barely cooked. Waste of money.

Title: Finally! A Toaster That Does What It Is Supposed To Do!
Review: A toaster is a toaster, right? Wrong! I had no idea how hard it would be to find a toaster that actually did what it is supposed to do without spending a fortune. When did toasters get so complicated? And when did toasters get so expensive? I saw some for close to $200!Well, I tried several toasters and even a toaster oven. Finally, this one is the one that did what it is supposed to do. It toasts evenly, it will hold long toast such as sourdough bread, it will toast bagels correctly by only toasting one side as God intended, it will even allow you to set for one slice. It is also easy to clean, but come on how often do we really clean our toasters?So, for the price, this does what it is supposed to do. No frills, no fluff, just a toaster that operates as it is intended. You can’t go wrong with this one. Unless you’re some sort of chef that needs one of those $200 ones, but even then I can’t see where those do anything different or better than this one!
